Comparing The Size Of Movie Robots

The Jaegers are back to kick kaiju ass in Pacific Rim Uprising, so it's only fitting that we follow up the MetaBallStudios comparison of giant movie monsters with their size comparison of movie robots.

And while some will argue that Jaegers, AT-ATs and the AMPs from Avatar (as well as others in the lineup) aren't technically robots, since they're piloted by humans, the distinction between mecha and robot isn't well known to the general public.

So if their inclusion in this lineup fills you with nerd rage then I apologize, and I implore you to look past the miscategorization and just enjoy seeing how all your favorite robotic characters, vehicles and mecha measure up to each other!

When You Try To Teach Your Friends How To Play A Board Game

Board games are so much fun I've been hooked on them for most of my life and still wake up craving that cardboard BG crack every day- which is why I'm always trying to get my friends hooked on them as well.

Because board games aren't as fun when you play them alone, but it's also not very much fun to be the designated rulebook reader and rule monger either- which is why I demand my friends pay attention when I explain the game.

But as this comic by Jacob Andrews shows explaining the game to my friends almost makes me want to go in to rehab for gamers, because with friends like Dan the distracted and Mac the "wait, that doesn't make sense" guy playing board games can be a real pain!

I'm Bald But At Least I Have Ears!

When you're bald the lack of hair on your head is all some people seem to notice, thinking of you as "that bald guy" rather than bothering to get to know your name so you can be "that bald guy named Jim".

But at least the follicly challenged don't really lose any of their senses when they go bald, unlike the earless. They have to deal with people calling them "that earless guy" and not being able to hear them calling them "that earless guy"! (Comic via Verynormalnotweird)

Dia De Los Tacos

For some tacos are more than just a fun food product in a folded tortilla- they're an obsession, a passion, the perfect food loved by everyone and always in style.

And yet some taco trucks out there struggle to sell their stuffed shells because they can't seem to get customers to come to their spot, which is why they always say location is everything.

But if you can't choose to set up shop at a location where there are lots of customers then you've gotta bring the customers to you- by dragging them to your taco truck by their noses!

Dia De Los Tacos is a deliciously silly animated short created by Vincent Scala for the Nickelodeon Animated Shorts program 2017, and while it has nothing to do with Dia De Los Muertos it has everything to do with tacos!

Thursday Is Luigi

Luigi is such a schmucky character that his name has become synonymous with the perpetual second fiddle, the subservient sibling, the loser brother nobody wants to be like and everybody picks on- even Toad.

So, according to this Owl Turd Comics strip, Luigi is like Thursday and while I agree to some degree I tend to think of him more like Sunday- pretty chill but also pretty depressing, considering Monday is right around the corner.

Sunday, like Luigi, can be awesome on occasion but overall it can't compare to its far more fun siblings Friday and Saturday, plus hanging out with Luigi is like going to church- booooooring!

In A Dream

It's sad to think how many of the things we wish for in life will stay forever out of reach, and it's even sadder to think how much this knowledge screws with our lives.

We're told those things we wish for will be ours if we just stick to a schedule and work our butts off, but this is shown to be a lie because no matter how hard we work our bank accounts never seem to be full enough to make those dreams come true.

And as this strip from Heck If I Know comics shows that's why life is better in dreams kiddies, sleep tight!

All The Things You Can Do With Your College Degree

College degrees used to be seen as these amazing sheets of paper that unlock a world of potential in our lives, allowing us to become educated heroes and head down the career path we've always dreamed of.

But then you graduate from college with a degree and a large amount of debt and start looking for a job in your chosen field, which either doesn't exist or doesn't hire people who don't have years of experience.

Then, as this Hot Paper comics strip shows, you're left with nothing but an expensive piece of paper and unfulfilled dreams about our dream jobs, which makes it really hard to get out of bed in the morning and find a job...

Say Hello To My Little Friend

The moment in Scarface when Tony Montana screams "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!" then starts blasting guys with his assault rifle is one of the most iconic moments in movie history.

But imagine if Tony had pulled out a puppy dog instead of an assault rifle after uttering that iconic line, now that would have changed the movie entirely!

Of course, if the puppy then pulled out an assault rifle of its own like it does in this strip from Quarter Turn comics then Scarface would have gone from Crime Drama to Surreal Slapstick Comedy!

Jasmine, The Scared Rescue Dog Who Became A Brave Animal Ambassador

Rescue dogs often have a hard time trusting humans after their harrowing experience, which makes their story that much sadder when shared with other dog lovers.

But Jasmine the Greyhound's story only started out sad, and once she was rescued from her garden shed prison cell she found a new home at a wildlife sanctuary.

There Jasmine discovered she had a gift for calming other rescued animals and making them feel safe, so she became a brave animal ambassador and healer who never turned away a fellow animal in need.

JASMINE is a sweet story of hope and redemption animated by Feeln that'll definitely give animal lovers all the warm, fuzzy feels, and it might just inspire you to get out there and adopt a new best friend from your local animal shelter!

With Apologies To Bards

You know why people are always picking on Bards? Because they're jealous and they know Bard is the mightiest class in Dungeons & Dragons or any roleplaying game, because they have both the melee and magic skills, all wrapped up in an irresistible package.

But by all means continue to talk trash about Bards like the Barbarian does in this Rock Paper Cynic comic, and while you're busy hating the Bard will run off with your loot and your love interest- and their charm spells will make you hand it all over with a smile!

We Spin The Wheel Of Fortitude Every Time We're Online

You can find lots of positive and inspiring stories online, posts that push you to be a better person and look on the bright side of life, but those stories are sadly few and far between.

More often than not the stuff we stare at online just makes us feel deflated and unworthy of likes, with no hope of ever achieving anything worthy of going viral, and that makes the internet a truly sad place.

So rather than spin the wheel of fortitude as seen in this James Of No Trades Comics strip why not simply exit your web browser and play a video game instead? That way you'll feel like both a hero and an accomplished human being!

The Difference Between Victory And Defeat

Sometimes the difference between victory and defeat is a mighty arsenal of weapons capable of tearing the enemy to bits and armor that cannot be penetrated by any manmade weapons.

And then there's the argument that training, courage and teamwork can help any soldier overcome any obstacle and defeat an entire army, which is fine and dandy as long as said soldier isn't Darrell.

Because as you can see in this Jake Likes Onions comic Darrell is a real dweeb who seems to think his shield is some sort of weird backpack.

The Face Shop

There are plenty of people in the world who would love to be able to wake up every day and apply a fresh face, able to wear a different identity on a whim by swapping their own face for another.

This may cause the face swapper to lose touch with their original identity, however anonymous folks like Faceless Neil would actually benefit from this process by gaining an actual identity.

But when none of the faces in the Face Shop fit poor Faceless Neil he is forced take matters into his own hands...

The Face Shop is a strangely entertaining animated short by Noella Borie that's part of her Faceless Neil series. It has a creepy Tim Burton-esque feel and blends 2D and stop motion in a way that may make some viewers feel uncomfortable...

When A Handshake Becomes A Sticky Situation

Handshakes can be handed out like hellos or they can be seen as an act of sealing a contract between two people, they can be no big deal or they can be an intimate exchange of skin cells and body heat.

It's really up to the person involved in the handshake to decide whether it's a nod or a bond, intimate or totally devoid of feeling, but when the shaker finds the act to be a bit too intimate they may feel like they're stuck in a sticky situation.

Handshake is a shaky animated short by Patrick Smith that has an eye-pleasing comic strip feel and a silly storyline that seems like a nightmare a germophobe or introvert would have.

The Next Star Wars Movies

The men and women of the Rebel Alliance have a lot of heart and a seemingly never-ending supply of moxy, but they're not the brightest beings in the galaxy- or else they would have defeated the Empire a long, long time ago.

How would they do this, you ask? Well, according to some the answer is superior firepower, and this comic by Pretends To Be Drawing seems to think making more Death Stars than the Empire is the answer.

But I believe the answer is Force-enhancing smart drugs and a giant spaceball bat...
