Yeah, over six years ago Miss C posted an article about the same photo series. I think something that was posted six years ago but is really cool bears reposting, and thanks for reading Neatorama for so long that you actually remember that article from 2008 Nathan! That was before my time -;-
Sorry if my post offended you Jonnette, but I don't know a thing about hair care, or how Do-rags are used in ethnic hair care regimen. I'm Mexican and none of the women in my family, or in my life for that matter, have ever had to use accessories like scarves and do-rags to care for their hair, other than covering their heads sometimes when they go out.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge about the actual purposes served by a do-rag, I edited the article and posted your comment (aside from the somewhat rude "how uninformed are you?!" bit) so that others may learn from my mistake. Who knew commenting on "ethnic" hair care products would be like walking through a minefield?!
Well Alice, I'm Mexican hence the last name of Santos, and don't really know anyone who has to wear do-rags as part of their hair care regimen. Knowledge of different hair types, and the accessories used on hair, isn't exactly what I'd call common knowledge. If I were you I'd be more embarrassed about calling your hair a "Jewfro", which isn't a very racially sensitive thing for a self proclaimed "white" person to say!
It came from the same brilliant minds who bring you The Onion, a super informed group of people who like to share super informative articles with the less informed, like myself. I learned a lot about sexy type stuff from this article, and now I have some great conversation points for my next dinner party!
It's a silly comedy article from the folks that bring you the Onion. If you don't dig the Onion then you probably won't dig the humor in this article. It's not really a "click farm", it's super informative!
Bronson Caves is #18 on LA Weekly's list. From the site:
Famously known as the entrance to the Batcave from the 1960’s Batman TV show, Bronson Caves in Griffith Park has also been used in horror films such as Cabin Fever, Army of Darkness, The Hills Have Eyes Part II, 1956’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Roger Corman’s Attack of the Crab People, and dozens of other B horror pictures.
Yep, that's a young Sandra Bernhard in the front row. She made her TV debut on the short lived Richard Pryor show before going on to bigger and better things.
Sadly this is more of an advertisement for a Halloween costume store than an actually researched and detailed chart, as any faithful Marvelite would know.
We don't normally post these blatant advertising infographics on Neatorama because they're just glorified print ads, and the fact that this cheesy ad features the movie costumes but is missing many of the costumes that appear in the comic (like the non-symbiote black suit, the strange Bagman suit, and the stealth suit just to name a few) just proves how little the creators cared about doing their research.
