I remember the Woolworth store that I went to with my mom as a young child. It had a lunch counter there too, and we would occasionally get a snack there. I even vaguely remember the waitress who worked there; she was always smiling and pleasant.
Four kids here - no improvement in self control from having to do them! I think it has more to do with learning how to keep things clean and how to take care of different kinds of stuff. Probably an even bigger deal to learn that life isn’t all pop tarts and skittles - sometimes you have to go do something boring or something you don’t really like to do!
Is there any generation in the US ow that hasn’t had to deal with debt? I’m technically Gen X, and I remember most people I knew who went to college had to do it with loans/debt. Getting a house requires debt, as well as a car. ☹️
Nope - cleaned off the cosmoline (greasy gun stuff) really well. Same thing as someone else said about Army/boiling water, except the wood part in the dishwasher. No dishes at the same time.
There’s more than just trees growing on this planet - the right kinds of plants would have to go in the right biomes. Cities would have to be done a lot differently, but the people living there would benefit in many ways. Just because it seems impossible doesn’t mean we shouldn’t attempt it.
Surprisingly the kids really liked it
