That's a great painting but I wonder why the artist painted the woman with the sword not looking at her victim. Instead she looks like she's staring at the shield, which sort of makes sense but she's delivering the fatal strike and looking at the sword's target would make more sense to me.

I fully expected the story to say his bones had disappeared with only a note left behind saying his bones were committed to the sea per his last wish. I definitely like that ending and if I had access to his bones I might have done just that.

We got relocated to Lake Charles and the company put us up in a local hotel which it turns out was infested with scabies! I had such a bad reaction to the bites that I had huge watery blisters the size of silver dollars. Got misdiagnosed by the first doctor that said I had herpes. Wrong. I finally found another doctor that took one look at my blisters and said I had caught scabies from that hotel. How did he know? Because he'd had scabies once, too. It took over a full year to rid ourselves and our clothing of those damned bugs. Twice a week we'd have to strip the beddings and sterilize the sheets and clothing in our new washing machine that had a sterilizer button on it. Ask me why I'm no fan of Louisiana.

What McD's really needs to do is get equipment that will make the drive thur employees understandable when they talk to their customers. That garbled speech if just awful. +++blick, snickle, crack+++

I thought Roger was doing a commercial for fireworks. When I lived in Louisiana tents would go up alongside a busy road and tables would hold all sorts of fireworks from sparklers to beautiful fireworks that looked like colorful flowers and dragons high in the sky to mini dynamite sticks. Those tents appeared for July 4th and for the New Year. In Michigan one may have sparklers. That's it. Pitiful, IMO. No wonder people would travel out of state to obtain some decent fireworks even if it is illegal to do it.

Could phobias be passed down the genetic line so future generations would be programmed to recognize these fears and in some way act upon them? As an example I give you my grand mother who - unbeknown to me most of my life - had an enormous fear of being buried alive. She lived to 89 years but instructed my mother that when she was pronounced dead my mother was to hold a mirror under her nose to ensure no vapor clung to the mirror proving that she truly was dead. Fast forward to me and never having known about my grand mother's fear, I, too, have had a life long fear of being buried alive. Which makes me wonder if a deceased relative years and years ago had been buried alive and that knowledge and fear was then genetically passed down to the surviving desendents to this day?

So am I supposed to automatically know exactly how much my order will be when I go through the take out line? I barely have time to get a good look at the menu before the pressure from the cars behind me starts to urge me to hurry and place my order even though I might have bought something different had I had 30 seconds longer to peruse the menu board. Well, excuse me, PLEASE! but I'll do my best in the take out lane to hurry up and order while my husband scrambles around in his pockets and my purse to find the money for our food without - GOD forbid - holding up the lane and inconveniencing the patrons behind me.
Come on, people, cool your jets! sheesh!

My MIL lived in Florida for decades so we had to go there. We made a point of going to Universal Orlando for a week's stay at their Royal Pacific hotel which is their best hotel if you like teak and greenery and serenity gardens and waterfalls. They are also pet friendly so your fur babies can come, too. We went there 10 years in a row until Covid hit and MIL died and we haven't been back. I miss it since I'm a big Harry Potter fan.
