Isabella's daughter, Joanna, didn't have a particularly happy life since her father, husband, and eventually her son used her horribly for their own ends. She's still known as Joanna the Mad.
Kind of interesting when you consider that Basil Rathbone was an expert swordsman in real life. Since he ususally played the villain in sword movies, he was obliged to lose these fights onscreen even though he could have demolished his opponent if the fight were for real.
" I can't quite figure out the nomenclature." There was an X-Men character named Spyke who was sort of a human hedgehog and may have been the inspiration for this.
