In Portugal we had a corpse crowned queen! Inês de Castro was Pedro the first's girlfriend and he wanted to marry her, make her princess and later queen but his father didn't approve of the relationship so he ordered her murder. Apparently Pedro found all but one of the murderers and killed them gruesomely and later, as he was already king he got her exhumed, dressed her in full queen attire and had all the courtspeople kiss the queen's hand as if she was a "regular" living one.
