On the contrary, the purpose of the "first world problems" internet gag is to convey exactly this message; first world problems are not problems. Regardless, this video makes a striking contrast.
Anyone who has seen or been involved in a bicycle accident would immediately know that this article is irresponsible garbage. It makes as much sense as saying "encouraging people to wear seatbelts will reduce the number drivers by making driving look less safe!"
Great piece Eddie. Harpo was a classic although the quick witted Groucho was always my favorite. Makes me wonder if Harpo was like his brother. Too bad he didn't speak enough in public to let us know.
Good question. I've seen a handful of jewelers unsuccessfully attempt to turn these expanded hollow-point bullets into earrings, pendants, rings, etc. The results are always rather ugly. This guy's little bouquet actually works, in it's own lighthearted way, and he's not a jeweler; he's an ex-military guy who runs a gun blog.

It's very, very silly that this is being called a "trend" let alone something "new". It really drives home how incompetent the world of journalism is, even empires like National Geographic. And I always have to wonder. If they can't get BASIC stuff like this factually correct, stuff that can be confirmed with a simple google search or an email, why should I trust ANYTHING they write on ANY subject?
this story is really sad - this kind of familial pressure happens all the time, but because there's a $65 million dollar bounty, this one makes the news. Lesbians are often raped or abused in hopes of "turning them straight." I've been out of the closet for 15 years, and i can't count the number of times I've been told that I just needed a "good man" to set me "straight." It's really sad.
