This dictionary entry doesn't mention "preys" anywhere, so I think "prey" is correct. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/prey?s=t

"Preys" is a word in verb form, e.g. "the lion preys on the zebra."

For what it's worth, and with all due respect, I've never seen the word "preys", so it must be pretty rare. I've always seen the plural of "prey" as being "prey" also.

I guess it makes some sort of sense - after all, if the woman had a full left hand, she would know what the full complememt of fingers feels like, I suppose.
