Anytime you sign up with a dating service, you get tons of useless inquiries for every possible match. At least that’s what I’ve heard. A friend of mine has launched a new site called Weird Dating Mail to share some of the stranger messages she’s received through online dating services, unidentified of course. You are invited to submit your own weird dating mail! http://www.weirddatingmail.com/
FAR! FAR away, the Google lives, in a land which only children can go to. It is a wonderful land of funny flowers, and birds, and hills of pure white heather.
The Google has a beautiful garden which is guarded night and day. All through the day he sleeps in a pool of water in the center of the garden; but when the night comes, he slowly crawls out of the pool and silently prowls around for food.

Pick your favorite soap opera characters, and predict what they will do in upcoming episodes. From Reuters:
Can this possibly work as randomly as baseball or football games, which are unscripted and broadcast live? And can’t everyone who watches soap operas see what’s coming a mile away? Soapnet is now taking signup and points begin to accrue tomorrow. It costs $9.99 to play for 10 weeks. Link -via Simply Left Behind
The Walt Disney Co.'s SoapNet announced the Web-based fantasy site on Friday at its annual Super Soap Weekend in Florida in a bid to attract women aged 18 to 34, and add a social dimension to the six-year-old soap TV channel.
The game works along the same lines as fantasy football, in which real-life players are chosen for virtual teams and results are based on statistics from actual games.

Who Wants to Be a Cognitive Neuroscientist Millionaire? is a fascinating account of an academic (Ogi Ogas) who had a system for winning on a game show. Who could resist such prose as:
Did he win a million? I’m not giving away the end of the story! Link
My neurohormones whipped from black misery to shining ebullience, saturating my brain in a boiling cauldron of epinephrine and endorphins. I gaped at the azure screen in front of me as the ultimate question coalesced in hot white font.

Wild Kitty (to the tune of Wild Rover)
Well I've been a wild kitty for many's the year,
And I found a nice pub that serves milk mixed with beer.
This makes me quite happy, so I'll purr with galore.
Cuz I never will be a wild kitty no more.
And it's no nay never, (meow, meow, meow, meow)
No nay never no more, (meow, meow)
Will I be a wild kitty. (meow)
No never no more.
It began at an ale house while hunting for fish.
The back door was left open. Some food they'd not miss.
But the landlord he caught me and took me out back,
And said if you're good I'll bring milk for to lap.
The landlord came back with some milk from the bar
But he thought it'd be cute to add whiskey from the jar
He layed it before me. I sniffed cautiously.
Then I lapped the milk down and passed out on his knee.
Well the landlord he took me inside to take care
When I woke I refused to drink milk without beer.
So now every night I stumble galore.
I don't land on feet, but I'm wild no more.

You’ve heard stories about cats who fall from great heights and survive. The highest recorded fall for a surviving cat was 45 stories! How do they do it? According to an article at Damn Interesting, its a combination of factors, including the cat’s ability to land in its feet, a decrease in drag, and relaxation. Relaxation? The internet has made the world a smaller place. We can communicate with people all over the world, make friends with similar interests, and even find long-distance love. Another use for the internet is creative collaboration, of which Neatorama is an example, with contributors from all over.
