I remember as a young boy seeing maps of the war in Europe in the newspaper complete with arrows and little flags to show troop movements. Of course I didn't understand it, but it remains a memory.

Interesting. When I taught school, I joked that the only times the top of my desk saw daylight were at the first and last days of the school year. In spite of the mess, I was always able to tell if someone was messing with my mess.

What ever happened to content of character and not color of skin? I say no more racial profiling of any kind, and that includes asking people about their ethnicity.

Years ago when plying my trade as a school teacher, I had a senior home room and Mrs.O and I were invited to the Senior Ball. The theme was (you guessed it) Stairway to Heaven. The band they hired was instructed to play the song once in each of their sets. By the time they got to the 3rd set, everyone was really tired of hearing it again, and the band was obviously annoyed at having to play it. The class officers let the band off the hook and they did not play it again that night, much to the relief of the folks at the ball.
