Ducky Washbin Cake

It may not be holiday specific, but this washtub cake is adorable. I bet Ernie would love to get a rubber duckie cake for his birthday.

Artistic Murder Weapons Slay Me

Artist Liz McGrath is selling personalized painted butcher knives just in time for Valentine's Day. There are two designs, the one shown and one with a cute little mouse on the blade. Each cleaver comes with its own box. They're only $25 and the perfect way to tell that special someone "till death do us part."

Little Tortoise Tries to Eat A Cherry Tomato

Sometimes a little critter just can't catch a break. This poor little man keeps trying to eat a cherry tomato, which keeps sliding just out of reach. Thank goodness for the kind Samaritan that finally holds the food in place for him.

Female Merit Badges

There's something delightfully fun about these semi-retro and slightly-sexist female merit badges created by Artist Mary Yeager.
My female merit badges illustrate female "rites of passage" as well as the myriad physical manipulations women undergo to achieve cultural ideals of beauty, such as weight watching, whether or not to shave or wear makeup, etc. I've created tiny replicas of female products, such as a birth control pill pack and a pregnancy test. The miniature scale and meticulous, hand-embroidered surfaces convey my impressions of growing up female in our culture.

Smallest Monkeys Alive

These pigmy marmoset monkeys are fantastic samples of animals rarely seen in the wild. Their bodies are about 5-6 inches tall and they have claws instead of nails.

Beanie Baby Hunter Trophies

I have to love this stripus africanis sample. When you purchase them, you even get a nice little biological info about the species. The strupus africanis enjoys grass, cereal and Snickers bars.
"This ideal stripus africanus specimen has been stuffed and retains all of its original features. This bust would be an excellent trophy to add to your collection. A small plate on the bottom identifies its genus and species. The wood plaque that it is mounted on measures 5x7" (or 13x18cm for our continental friends) and is pre-drilled on the back for easy hanging."

How to Hack Construction Signs

Ever wonder how to make the construction light signs change their text? Now you can with these handy instructions:
"It will ask you for a password. Try “DOTS”, the default password.

In all likelihood, the crew will not have changed it. However if they did, never fear. Hold “Control” and “Shift” and while holding, enter “DIPY”. This will reset the sign and reset the password to “DOTS” in the process. You’re in"

Am I the only one that thinks maybe, just maybe, these things should be a little harder to change? They usually are protected with a tiny lock, and sometimes that's not even on there. What if the sign above was trying to warn the whole road was blocked and people laughed and kept driving 65?
