he should get the world record for drifting into the tightest parking space... or the record for perpendicular parking. the record should go to the person that can do it by the book, as you would on a busy street

i live in pittsburgh, and LOVE when the AI students dress him up! it's right downtown, so it gets a lot of exposure. he also has steelers and penguins costumes, amongst others.

i'm pretty sure this t-rex wasn't part of the fiberglass dinosaur project you're referring to... he's pretty much a mainstay. i think the dinos you're thinking of are the ones that were placed around the city, and painted by local artists and businesses.

still cool, nonetheless!

here's an article on Pittsburgh's "DinoMite Days" (forgot it was called that until i just did a quick google search. lol)

http://pittsburgh.about.com/cs/events/a/dinomite.htm

sadly, there are less and less painted up dinosaurs hanging around Pittsburgh as that was a few years back. but you'll still see a few here and there. i know for sure the "mr. rogers" dino is still in Oakland. just saw it the other day, and ironically to this post, he sits right down the block from where Batman was filming for about a week or two!

"Dippy" should be around for sometime though :-)

also, the Batman filming is really creating a fun buzz around Pittsburgh!

(please don't take this comment as "know-it-all" but as a follow up to another fun post by neato!)

shame on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service woman. as soon as she found out about the situation (in lowes) she should have assisted the little girl and her family in letting it go, and explained why the little girl couldn't keep it. not return 2 weeks later with a trooper and a fine. asshole

the video doesn't say why, or even give a hint as to why they are stealing the bricks? c'mon brick people, make it interesting for the casual passer by

"There's considerably more pressure from one of those clips than there is from your hand, or from the mother's mouth"

not true. you just think there is because it's your hand. you have to grab it pretty hard on the neck to pick it up.

the cat is fine. the pressure just makes him think he needs to chill out...

cool, but i thought the song from kelley's heros would play. lol. and the "it's still up... no it ain't" scene from kelley's heros would have ended that video perfectly. haha

i lived in San Diego with my cousin for about 6 months. i reside in Pittsburgh. i dumped my ice hockey equipment out of it's large bag (i'm sure you guys know the size of those), and i packed everything i needed into that thing. wasn't much, and the bag wasn't even filled all the way. so in SD, everything i owned fit into a dining room closet about 2 ft wide, 6 feet hige. hangers and about 3 shelves. happiest/simplest time of my life. i often think of getting rid of most things i own. but i understand practicality, and i'm a pretty sentimental guy... i guess what i'm trying to say, i loved my time as a minimalist :-)
