sooo... curious... why didn't you just slide over and let him by??? i mean, he was on you and obviously wanted to get by, right? or did you have a point to prove?

funny, i go about my way and don't get beeped at, let alone cause an accident. and my method is wrong?

great stories, thanks!

jolly, "cycling like a coward"... no... cycling with consideration to everyone around me. putting myself last in the pecking order. making it as safe for everyone around me as i can. ass. and i live and bike through a lot of narrow streets, and a ton of hills: pittsburgh. and delrod said it right. if you're biking with a political agenda, then get off the road and go find another cause...

everybody see just how dumb and entitled wydra's commet looks?

staying out of the way of cars and people leads to bad behaviors?!?!

running stop signs and red lights... you think i'm doing that during heavy traffic or something? take it in context, you ass.

"But if you wanted to, you are fully entitled to be an ass and play pretend like you're a car taking up the lane the whole time"

THAT is bad behavior.

but hey, if you want to piss people off and potentially get hit, go right ahead. i'll bike my way...

"Sorry but cyclists have as much right to the road as anybody else"

no we don't! no... we... don't! and that's half the problem. i'm an "urban cyclist"... my attitude is that when i'm on the street, i'm on the vehicle's street. when i'm on the sidewalk, i'm on the people's sidewalk. i am last in the pecking order and it is my job to stay out of the way. and i do it well, and cause little trouble. and oh by the way, i'm not stopping for a stop sign or posting up at a red light, so don't get pissy. i'm getting a head of steam to get out of the vehicle's way.

on the flip side, i also drive a truck and give bikers room. BUT, please don't ride directly in front of me. it really is annoying, and you just shouldn't be there...

bikers are snobs. drivers are snobs. everybody is so self important and in a freaking hurry these days, it's ridiculous! too many people are wrapped up in their own heads.

"Bad way to start a conversation with me, and a great way to make me instantly dislike you without knowing a thing about you"

sounds like you're doing everyone else a favor then, atomizer. bet you're a blast to hang out with!

"and it strikes right to the core of what our culture values most -- money"

really??? really??? ummm... NO. it's something you know you have in common with the other person... as in, news flash: ya both DO SOMETHING for a living!!!

ugh, some people...

if you're too sensitive for this question, then just stick with favorite color

all the people in these ads are holding pictures of white people dressed up in costume... only white people... so you can only take this initiative SO serious...

i ride into work 2-3 times a week and won't go without my helmet. i also play ice hockey and won't step on the ice without a helmet. sure you're gonna get injured with a helmet on, but you're less likely to split your head open. if it's concussions you're worried about, you're gonna get one with or without a helmet if you're hit hard enough. nothing will stop your brain from rattling around. bike helmets work, i strongly encourage them. but it's up to the wearer of the helmet to NEVER feel invincible... ever!
