I would like to watch a documentary where these guys just talk about their life and their mindsets. Like, the way their life went, and the way they view life itself - how that affects a person to become a antarctic trekker like that. I would never in a million years want to put myself in that environment and commit for that period of time to do that. But they did. I'm not judging them, just saying I wanna know more about the way they tick internally.
I guess one could apply the same logic to hot regions too. Why do African peoples have so much children? Because amidst all the heat, malaria, lion attacks - having kids probably makes you feel better about your situation. Pressure makes diamonds :)
and that's exactly why most kids hate their parents - if you don't give your kids allowances for chores, you teach them that they are worthless, and their time and work is worthless. they are meaningless, interchangeable robots meant to serve you
