Edward's Comments

Just saw an Eons video that pointed out the lack of “wee little beasties” during the Carboniferous age. Trees that fell down were not decomposed and eventually turned into coal.

Hear, hear! There is so much wrong with this chart, but what grabbed me was what was left out. It looks to be created by a teetotaling pseudo-snob.

Given the final chamber that is slanted upwards, mere silting would not have generated a complete fossilization. My guess (and only a guess) is that abandoned burrows were filled with water that leached minerals along the way. Over time, the water evaporated, more hard water flowed in until the former spaces were filled with mineral deposits.

I had been looking for a map like this a few years back. I wish he had shown the equator on it, however. I believe it roughly separated North America from South America and Africa. Chine was near the North Pole and Austrailia was almost at the South Pole.
