My mother was the control chemist at a water treatment facility. The first "filter" was a set of weirs. The first caught anything larger than a softball. The rest stopped anything larger than half an inch. All of them could be cleaned while standing on dry land. This plant suffers from a bad design.
Given the passing of 1.7 billion years, how can we be sure that this was natural and not an ancient alien power source. I am serious. Would any materials of construction stick around for that long? How about containment materials?
Pizza that is made with poor quality pepperoni or uncooked sausage will leak grease worse than a mid-seventies Harley. Many people, myself included, will daub off that grease with a paper napkin.
