I discovered a way to attend the fair for bargain rates: Sign up as a bidder for the Junior Auction. $10 to park. $6 admission for two. $10 to register as a bidder. Includes breakfast, lunch and admission to the fair. The only down side is needing to be there by 8:00 AM.

i would be interested in a study not of what the patient was still capable of doing, but of what was lost. For example, can he still smell? Can he form new memories? What about reaction times and sensitivity to stimuli?

I have very strong feeling on this subject. To keep it short, I am leaving out personal choices and sticking to two topics: Math and Life Skills.
Math needs to be way accelerated. Skip Geometry. Algebra early. College level calculus senior year. Students can opt out after basic algebra.
Life skills should be taught even if it is as lame as the Health classes I took on junior high.
