I would've picked Gordon Gecko's "greed is good" speech as #1. Col. Jessup's "You can't handle the truth" monologue/speech in "A Few Good Men" should've been in the top 10. And I don't know if it counts, but the Drill Instructor's introductory speech in "Full Metal Jacket" is also worthy of at least an honorable mention. But most of the monologues in the video are also iconic and it would be a shame to remove any of them.

(BTW, not that enthused with the #1.)

I live in the Philippines, a major banana producer. I definitely eat more than 75 bananas a year, probably 150 or so. I also love banana ketchup, which is the most consumed ketchup variety in the Philippines. And BTW, I hate Cavendish, it's bland and weak. I prefer lacatan and latundan varieties, which are way tastier. And also saba which is primarily for cooking deep fried! Yum!

Knights of Sidonia sounds interesting. My favorite space opera (and perhaps in my all time top 5 anime series) is Crest of the Stars. If Sidonia is even 1/10th as good as CotS, then it's worth a watch.

Why question the status of bowling as a sport? Tenpins is more "sporty" than half of the events in the winter olympics (luge? curling?). It's a legit sport and the best players are true athletes.

BTW, Jason is great, especially with his unorthodox release. As for trick-shooting, I've seen better ones by Chris Barnes and PB3.

I will always remember Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) as the villain in the Last Action Hero, the one with the glass eyeball. In fact, I recognized him when I first saw him in GoT.

I disagree with Lothar. Bowling lost its luster in the US by being identified as the sport of the working-class, not that it was unaffordable with the middle class. Both tennis and golf have retained their relative popularity, despite being more expensive than bowling, by being sports for the upper crust and are thus well sponsored and televised, while pro team sports are enjoyed across a broad spectrum; but bowling is for the beer guzzling, cigarette-smoking, pot-bellied, balding blue-collar stiffs. It is perceived as being too unsexy.

In certain parts of the world where bowling hasn't been so identified, it is quite popular as a spectator, even "professional", sport such as in Asia and parts of Europe. There were, and still are, televised events, "semi-professional" tours with big money, and name recognition for top players.

LOL, spot on! I am a watch enthusiast but I cannot justify the prices of some of these timepieces. My dad has a Zenith or two, a VC, three PPs, an AP, IWCs, JLCs, etc., not to mention several Rolexes; and he was impressed when I showed him my inexpensive Japanese Orient watches. Heck my daily beater is a $50 Timex Weekender.

I live in a tropical country near Thailand, though not in a mango plantation, and that house looks to be tortuously hot in summer. Call me old-fashioned but I would much rather live in a boxy house with AC.

Not to mention that the pond would attract dengue and malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

And one wonders how it handles typhoons and tropical storms. Just sayin'...

Some news report say the nurse was Edith Shain but others say it's Gloria Bullard. At least there's some consensus that the sailor indeed was Glenn McDuffie. Maybe Neatorama should investigate the controversy and weigh in the evidence. :)
