The kid sure brightened those pilots' day, you can hear it in their voices. Clearing a plane for take-off is the best time to let a kid talk on the radio, because the plane is sitting still on the runway, with nothing threatening nearby. No chance of a crash or mid-air collision.
Well, Zo, it's kinda like the problem we had breaking the Sound Barrier: the trans-sonic region would always be tearing the planes apart. Once we perfected supersonic flight, we made sure to not spend much time in that region. Just punch right past it as quickly as possible and leave it far behind. Probably gonna be a similar situation with FTL. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faster-than-light
Okay, did anybody realize that the first song is about a vicious killer RAT? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068264/ For me, the beauty of that song was always at odds with its subject.
"One of my favorite book series deals with Neanderthal societies in a parallel universe, that I highly recommend, by Jack Sawyer. It’s a trilogy consisting of “Hominids”, “Humans”, and “Hybrids”."
Sorry Jaycatt, but the author is Robert J. Sawyer, not Jack. But I agree, the books are astounding!
A great many of the "mistakes" listed on IMDb are only visible for one or two frames, so it would appear that somebody went through the whole film using the 'Step' function on their media players.
On the commentary for "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," John Cleese mentioned that one take, that he thought was funnier, didn't get used because something was visible on the far side of the frame. Cleese was telling the director and editor, "They're attention is going to be over HERE, they're not going to notice that over THERE!"
When I read these silly lists, and check up on them, Cleese was right: I would have NEVER noticed these things if somebody hadn't been anal enough to point them out.
