I don't get it. Is it supposed to be funny?

Superb find Alex. This is a take on money folding I've never seen before. I'd like to see him try more exotic headwear though.

The ideas and the titles are absolutely brilliant. I wish there was a bit more skill and craft in the actual work though. The scenes are composed in a style that demonstrates a true love for the original cartoons as if they are homages, but the modeling is very rough and is only saved by the coloring.

Without a doubt, this is the best set of comments for a Neatorama post ever.

I imagine there are sealants that can keep the air off the steel and stop the rusting process. But he'd still have considerable noise problems in the house - if he actually wanted to live there.

Great find Alex! I never heard of this guy before. There's a real artist doing his work because he's compelled to by the love of the material and the possibilities it affords and the ability to bring his vision into reality through his technical expertise.
Like one of the links says - it's Gaudi without the ornament. But I suspect with the wonderful design of those large windows he has ideas there too.
This structure should be on the cliff edge of the Grand Canyon, rather than the rather bland flat river valley location Bruno has made it in. It must be a wonderful space to be inside.
Shame how some tiny minds chime in the comments here...

Buzz is the man! I hope he lives forever. Not only does he float in air - he walks on water. He and Armstrong should have been given some sort of Nobel prize a long time ago. I'd like to see them adorn the back of the dollar bill or some such tribute. (Maybe even the front. Perhaps then the damn US paper money would be worth looking at...)

Fascinating, as Spock would say...
Sorry, but the Heikenwaelder version seems to be a poor, colorized version of the original, and doesn't seem to illuminate the scientific article or the subject in any way.
The concept is compelling though, and makes sense. We can't do any more than the power we possess affords. That works as an existential tenet or a modus operandi. Food for thought, not just on the planetary, etc. level but on the personal level - as a way to live your life.
Get more power!!!

wow matt! That must have been wonderful.
The pic of the eclipse shadow is almost disappointing - like something went wrong in the lens or something - unless you know what the phenomenom is.

The muslims need their own planet, far, far away.
Either that or the rest of us develop technology that lets us leave them behind here on Earth as we venture out into the universe and forget that whole stupid caliphate and sharia thing ever existed...

Bambi is an animated work of art. The backgrounds are some of the most beautiful you'll ever see in an animated movie. I agree that the inclusion of Bambi in this article is asinine, and yet the very fact that after all these years one of the earliest feature length animations continues to live so vividly in the collective mind of our culture just goes to show how brilliant a movie it was and still is.

You lefties love to play the Vietnam card, thinking it trumps everything. Kennedy was the first to send troops, followed by Johnson who sent hundreds of thousands more. Nixon got the U.S. out of Vietnam. Having said that though, the war against communism was a just one and was fought over decades in myriad different ways, some with a great loss of life like Vietnam. Also, if you know anything about actual warfare, which I suspect you don't as it's too awful to think about, you'll know the "infamous" Tet offensive was a decisive victory against the Viet Cong instead of the defeat that Cronkite reported. The vietnam war might have had a different outcome if the peacenicks weren't on the side of the communist north.

My Dad used to paint pebbles and rocks, but his work was far more interesting than this stuff. If I can find photos I'll post them here, but it blows this stuff away. Whether people want to buy the damn things is another question. I don't think they do, frankly, and that's probably why he gave it up...

Thanks Adam, but I think we should give war a chance. If people didn't give war a chance once in a while when required then the actual war-mongers of history would rule over us like tyrants. The only example of a peacenick prevailing I know of in history is Gandhi - and he non-violently prevailed because he wasn't up against a Stalin, or Hitler or Saddam. He protested against an advanced civilized pluralistic democracy, not a demi-god tyrant. Try doing the hunger strike, non-violent thing in Cuba, or in North Korea, or Iran and see how far it gets you. Our warriors do their job to keep the idea of freedom of choice - of government - of religion - of speech - alive for us. The peace you are privileged to enjoy now is a luxury when all of human history is taken into consideration, and it wasn't brought about by diplomats or non-violent action but by warriors standing up to war-mongers and tyrants.
