Carruthers's Comments
Yep - DwardisimoRex doesn't know what he's talking about. Shackleton's exploration adventures are almost mythical - sort of akin to a 20th century Odysseus.

NOVA did film on him. Accompanying site here:

Gilliam's films and his directorial talent are overrated. He should have stuck to the animated stuff he did for MPFC.

From this and his other recent contributions it seems like "Excellent" is less than excellent at authoring posts here....
btw - I'd post more myself, but I'm busy - sorry!

Neatorama is way more fun than BoingBoing. It's also a lot more kid-friendly.
Despite being subtitled "A Directory of Wondeful Things" BB is written by people who can't wait for an opportunity to insert their heavily lefty political stance into the posts, and that's only palatable if you're like-minded.
I suspect their audience is the so-called hipster 18 to 30 or so demographic - or people who identify with same, ( I know a 50 year old father of two who does) whereas Neatorama's is far more inclusive.

Sorry Alex. It's really not very Neatorama-neat when you post this sort of stuff. The guy is controversial and always has been. If Neatorama includes controversial stuff then please - at least make it neat and not divisive. The battle lines have already been well established on the "global warming" issue and all this post serves to do is entrench them even more. If we're going to have controversial neat stuff then let's have it be something more interesting - like your Co-Education post earlier, where people have far most interesting things to say on the subject, including first hand knowledge, and there might at least be the possibility that new, NEAT, light might be shed on the matter by bringing attention to it.

Tedious. Yet another "artist" "brave" enough to exploit Jesus as a subject. Thought-provoking it might be by depicting him in the modern execution technology, but Jesus is far, far too easy a target.
Try provoking some thought using Mohammed as your subject matter - oh brave and edgy artistes.

Great series. My 10 and 7 year old friends love this too.
Not just mind-bendingly (Japanese style) weird scenarios, but catchy sound fx and music too.

Is this Jerse thing some sort of troll robot, programmed with the ability to argue in the most annoying way possible while being wrong in everything it says? It's almost starting to get fun. Almost - but not quite. If it's a real person then I bet he's a real charmer with the ladies...
