We've seen what we thought was unicorn poop and we've seen the sugary magic mounds that unicorns barf up, and now we get to see what really comes out of them (at least according to Elise Strachan of My Cupcake Addiction): TINY RAINBOW STARS!
She's made an online tutorial and while the process is a bit labor intensive, I think you'll agree, the results are worth it. Watch and learn, watch and learn:
You just missed Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, but you don't have to miss out on this awesome stretchy grilled cheese sandwich necklace! It's handmade by Jen Tuttle of San Diego, California, who sells her fabulous miniature food jewelry through her Etsy shop, miniholiday.
She writes:
I have been making miniatures for over 30 years and I still smile when someone falls in love with one of my creations.
Have you ever gone to a Guitar Center just to try out your latest masterpiece on a brand new piece of equipment? Or, even better, let your kids? I didn't think so.
Well, over the course of three days, artist Noah Wall went to the Manhattan Guitar Center and surreptitiously recorded strangers --people like you and me and our children-- banging on drums, singing, hammering on keyboards, and emitting other loud cacophonous noises. He then made the recordings into an album. It's called Live at Guitar Center and it's almost unlistenable (free to download though), unless you really lean in and let it envelope your senses.
March 27, 2015. It’s about 3 on Friday. School’s out and people are headed to Guitar Center Manhattan. I'm going there to do some field recording. A block away, I put on a pair of microphones you might find in a spy catalog. They look like earbud headphones but are actually binaural (stereo) mic’s that go in each ear. No one suspects I’m recording them - more like listening to music or something...
Italy-based Stella Melgrati of Etsy shop The Yarn Kitchen has just the thing to house your naked succulents, her adorable hand-felted Animal Planter Pods. Each one of them has a sweet little face whether it be a kitty, puppy, chick, or (my favorite) an octopus.
She says the pods are available in 28 different colors because, "love is a rainbow." Awww.
Take a look:
The happy chick
(Shhh, don't tell my mom, but I'm totally getting her this one for Mother's Day!)
