So if it's going to go over their heads, wouldn't hanging a lampshade on it generally either be fruitless mocking or upsetting? How does having a jokesy die aleve that problem, exactly?
Oooookay but if the roll is public information with a 1-sided die, it'll always be 1; if the roll is public information and has to be re-rolled until a 1, the players will see; and if the roll is private information, the DM can just lie. Is my /s sensor out of whack today?
I love the concept and execution and all, it's a neat little die.
But the idea of actually "using" it as a functional "this event happens 100% of the time" "die roll" is fucking ridiculous. What role playing system would force the DM to make some kind of die roll if the outcome is set?
