Chickens are awesome! I have 3 that come running whenever I walk out the back door - just in case I have food with me. I went out at night last week for the first time in years and when I got home, all 3 of them were huddled round the back door waiting for me. They have an automatic door on the coop, which they've been successfully using for months so all I can think is that they knew I was out and hoped I'd bring them a treat home with me.
Every single Australian child (even ones in their 50's like me) knows it's a cake version of the Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book Echidna Ice-cream Cake. We've all been to many, many parties featuring all the cakes from this book. :)
I've been watching TV with subtitles for a couple of years - ever since someone on a Walking Dead forum mentioned how much easier it was to understand. Now there are shows I can't watch because there are either no subtitles or the subtitles don't match the dialog. The other thing I love is that they often tell me what mood the music is trying to set. Because I always thought music was trying to set either a happy or scary mood - but the number of variations is amazing and in some cases actually changes what I thought was happening in a scene.
I really think the majority of people put a lot more thought into what they want to get tattooed that you might think. I know I spent a lot of time looking for the exact design I wanted, and even though it was something from pop culture at the time, 25 years later I'm still happy with it because it had meaning to me.
It makes you realise how important community is. As someone with no family, who is self employed and works from home this could easily happen to me. Fortunately, my local community is great and I'm sure someone would notice (and act) if I hadn't been seen for a few days. I guess that's one of the benefits of the burbs
They used to run these in the 80's or 90's - my cousins used to do them a lot. But back then, you'd really just end up on whatever flight had empty seats. I thought it sounded like a lot of fun, but they stopped them before I was in a position to do it.
I just know that my little monster would have no interest in it until I was sleeping on top, Being woken by the sound of scratches and bumps coming from the box under the bed would not be conducive to a panic free night. Although I'd probably buy one anyway, because he's a very cute little monster and I do love him.
Not sure whether it's my (very poor) German accent, or my cats utter lack of respect for me. But the best I got was a lazy glance over to see if I had food.
I know him, he's an Aussie! The Australian parliament actually made an official (posthumous) apology to him for the way he was treated when he got back to Australia. I'd never heard of him until a couple of years ago - and we're a country that usually idolizes it's sporting heroes.
