Sham's Comments

Hi Alex,
Glad you liked it! :-)
As a matter of fact, I live only 30min driving from that bank in Nice... And as you said, it was "stuff of legends", even today 36 years later, everyone knows the story on the French Riviera.
For example, a couple of years ago I was in a restaurant, discussing that heist with a friend, and we disagreed about the date of the robbery. I asked the waiter for his opinion ; he didn't say a word, but came back a minute layer and dropped on the table the local journal ("Nice Matin") which had been published the day after the heist! You can guess what was the front page title! :-)
Spaggiari's words "Sans arme, ni haine, ni violence" are also the name of a 2007 movie about the heist.

Sounds to me like a copycat of 1976 Spaggiari robbery in Nice, France. Have a look at it, that was an incredible affair (I like the fact that the guy got caught, but escaped from the judge's office at the tribunal by jumping through the widow, 1st floor of the building!).

There is no way he's got an advantage compared to normal runners : he's missing both calf muscles, for god's sake! The only energy he gets from the prosthetics is the energy he has put on. That's the whole principle of a spring.
So now, they're too light? Well, then just add a couple of lead weighs to'em and we're even. OK?

Let him run!

@ted : first, it would be more about their English Pounds at work, not dollars. Not everything happens in the USA.
Second, as stated in the article, officers worked on that puzzle on breaks and during spare time.

Ergo, your argument is irrelevant.

@Simon86 : I agree too disagree with you.
You can try to do good to the Earth, the environment, but *reducing* your impact. You can still make things change AND use a car/have plastic items @ home, by *reducing* their numbers.

And on the topic of legal, "banners and petitions" protesting, unfortunately the past 40 years (GreenPeace is 38yo) of history can show you the limits of this approach. Time is running short, we need stronger actions to be taken.
