Elderly Man and Hummingbird Are Best Friends

Joao Silvestrini is an older man who lives in Brazil, and every single day like clockwork, he has a hummingbird fly into his house for a snack. He decides to take advantage of these moments and strike up a conversation with his little fluttery friend. If you have a heart, this video will make it sing.

May we all be as lucky as Joao to one day live a life where our open windows bring us adorable hummingbird companions for daily visits.

If this ever happens to me, I will name my pet hummingbird Mr. Pippers, and we will be the very best of friends, regardless of age and the fact that one of us is a bird.

What If Christopher Nolan Directed WAll-E?

WALL-E was an amazing film. Christopher Nolan is an amazing director. So let's play around for a second and hypothesize how utterly brilliant it would be if Nolan had gotten the chance to direct WALL-E? Though I am not sure that movie could get much better, you do know a couple things right off the bat if you know the director's work. It would be a dark and gritty film, the score would be so powerful you would feel like you couldn't breathe while watching it, and it would have an ending that left you in awe (or a tad bit confused).

So really, Christopher Nolan should stick to what he does best (Interstellar looks unreal), as should Pixar. This still looks like it would be an amazing film, though, and is a fun way to spend two minutes.

Al Crego Animates Street Art

Original street art and photo by Artestenciva. Animated GIF By A. L. Crego.

Laughing Squid put together a list here of some street art that artist A.L Credo ended up animating, and it is stellar. While the works themselves are remarkable, seeing just a dab of animation added to them seems to breathe even more life into the already staggering work.

They are small touches in every piece, but just enough to breathe a little life into them all.

A Collection Of Eerie, Unexplained Photos

The internet is filled with weird stuff. That is half of the draw. It is like a Christmas gift each time you go to it, as you never quite know what you are going to get. One thing that internet has made far more accessible to most is the bevy of strange and unexplained photos out there. The problem is, with the inception of Photoshop and many other image manipulation tools, it is getting harder and harder to differentiate between what is real and what is fake. But it can still be fun to lose yourself in that, regardless of whether it is based in fact.

I found a twisted little gallery of "The Most Eerie And Unexplained Photos To Ever Exist", and though it could be assumed a couple of them are fake, many of them predate the internet. Like the above photo of the news article in the L.A Times about the "Battle for Los Angeles" that is something that actually happened (way back in 1942), when L.A was pretty sure it was being invaded by aliens.

No, not the crappy movie of the same name from a few years back. Best we just never speak of that again. But check out the gallery. "Falling body" is really creepy, too.

Musician Glen Campbell Writes (Final) Heartwrenching Song About Alzhemiers

This might just be the most difficult post I have ever written here. That may sound silly, but sadly, Alzheimer's has been in my life since I was just a child. To see someone you love forget themselves and forget everything around them, while slow degenerating, is a dark place I would not wish on anyone. In the same breath, we ALL need to talk about this condition more, and a song like this will incite the needed discussions.

(YouTube Link)

Famous 70s musician Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011 and has been battling it relentlessly since. Seemed he had finally reached a point where those around and even he became aware that he could not record music anymore, as his Alzheimer's was getting worse and worse.

He decided to record one final song called "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" and it is about exactly what you think it's about. I will tell you right now, this is painful. A man aware he is slipping into oblivion and choosing to say goodbye one last time the only way he knows how. Please, share this and spread the word. The more aware we are of this condition, the more funding it gets, the less we have to worry that it will be like this forever.

Remember when Johnny Cash put out the Hurt video right before he passed away? Yes, this feels like that, but with an even deeper meaning. For those looking to learn more about the disease or find out ways they can help, check out the Alzheimer's foundation.

Jason Momoa's Game of Thrones Audition

A great many fans of the Game of Thrones series were sad to see how (first season spoiler alert) how quickly Khal Drogo (played by Jason Momoa) was killed off. Fans familiar with the book saw it coming, but the rest of us were hoping for more screen time for the badass leader of the Dothraki people.

But outside of his massive physique, you ever wonder how he landed a part that involved him screaming in a fake language and ripping out throats with his bare hands? I will give you a hint: he went into the studio and acted like the crazy guy who lives in your neighborhood and walks down the street hitting himself while speaking nonsensically out loud.

Extra points for the intense smacking his own legs. May look insane to us, but it obviously worked.

Forever Alone: The Cook Book

Image Credit:  TBS The Book Service Ltd

Sometimes, you just find something online that reminds you how good you actually have it. It can be a picture of someone going through something terrible, or it can be a video that hits you right in the feels. But in this case, it was something as simple as someone sending me a pic in my email, and BAM, I loved my life again. Why? Because I knew I would never need the book seen above. Microwave For One by Sonia Allison. Yes, it is real, and judging from the price, perhaps a bit of a collector's item.

But let's take a moment for the true sadness of the concept behind this book to sink in. There, do you feel that? Just the thought that this book needed to be written hints at some very lonely lives (filled with unpleasant food). It really is "forever alone", the cook book.

So think about this book next time you are lonely or having a bad day and you just might realize, it could be a lot worse. You could have written Microwave For One.

First Look At Disney's New Animated Short, Feast

(YouTube Link)

The Paperman was an award winning short film for Disney, which put their short films back on the map a few years ago. The shorts are usually produced by people who work for Disney, but not the main crew that are working on the film the short precedes. The Paperman was a stunning piece of work, and it looks like Disney's next short, Feast, will be no less amazing. It features an adorable hungry dog, and that is about all we know right now.

Also, please note, the cell-shaded animation style is visually stunning, and it is awesome to see Disney stepping outside of their bubble and trying new things.

Keep your eyes peeled for Feast when Big Hero 6 is released on the 6th of November.

Superhero Origins: Jubilee From X-Men

I can openly admit, I was not a fan of Jubilee when she first appeared in X-men comics in 1989. She was a teenage girl who could shoot fireworks. You wouldn't think she would be a big contender to join the X-Men, but fans realized over time, she was there to inject some youthful, pop culture energy into the band of aging mutants.

So as lame as I initially thought she was, I was very happy to see WatchMojo had thrown together this short and sweet little origin story for the short and sweet little X-Men.

Still, though, shooting fireworks is mildly impressive at best. Someone had to say it.

The 5 Most Extreme Haunted Attractions in America

When most people think about haunted houses and haunted attractions around Halloween, they imagine a school cheaply converted into a haunted house, where you walk through laughing while strangers in cheap costumes jump out at you an scream. While that may be an accurate description for most haunted attractions, there are a handful that are considered extreme. You need to sign wavers before you go through them, they can take hours, and the things you can see (and have happen to you) are troubling, to say the least.

For the few of you curious or brave enough to experience one of these traumatizing places, here is a list of The Five Most Extreme Haunted Houses in America, and I will warn you now, even the description of a few of these places is too extreme for me to put here.

Put it this way, if you do not like bodily fluids or being touched by strangers, these just aren't for you. For the rest of you, have fun and good luck.

How To Deliver Sand Like A Boss

My dad taught me while I was very young that there are two ways you can accomplish things. The easy way, or the hard way. He also told me the hard way was often the "right" way. After watching this insane video of how these men transport sand between floors, I realize, what my father taught me was a lie. I am sure it was not his intention, but there is clearly a step in between the easy and the right way that can incorporate both. I only know this because the following video proved it to me.

While this may be a very odd question, have you ever seen anyone transport sand as efficiently? They somehow make this look like a fun job.

Now the real question is, when did Spiderman start hauling sand for a living?

The Matrix Trilogy Summed Up in Under 3 Minutes

The Matrix is one of those very polarizing trilogies. Some people like the fact that it incorporated Eastern philosophies and mixed them with modern ideas of technology and free-will. Others looked at it like a contrived action movie that tried too hard to be deep. One thing everyone can agree on, people walk away from the Matrix trilogy all with a different feeling on what just went down. It can be very confusing to piece together the whole thing after its many hours are behind you.

Thankfully, the guys over at TL;DW on YouTube put together this handy-dandy video that pretty much breaks this almost nine hour series down to just under three minutes. While the flash animations make lack some panache, the way they summarize the story is pretty awesome, and often times, hilarious.

It is funny while also be pretty spot-on. Oh, and it saves you nine hours.

The Clowns of America Are Mad At American Horror Story: Freak Show

So did you kids watch the premier of American Horror Story: Freak Show? From the ratings to the instant renewal for a fifth season as soon as the first episode of this season debuted, safe to say many of you did. A constantly creepy and shocking show, from the tone set in this season's premier, seems the show may be set to top its former seasons with more scares and more lines they are willing to cross.

But guess who watched the premier and were not at all amused? Actual clowns. As this article in The Hollywood Reporter talks about, seems there is an actual association of clowns out there (sorry guys, but even that sounds terrifying) who want to make it so clowns are no longer represented as something people should fear.

The single scariest moment of my entire life was when I was almost dragged from the audience by clowns at a circus in Boston (they were trying to get me on stage, but I was pretty convinced they were gonna eat me), and I have felt a deep rooted fear of clowns since. Coulrophobia for you science nerds. So sorry clowns, but I am with American Horror Story on this one. You don't get any sympathy from me. And John Wayne Gacy didn't help your cause, either.

Last Week Tonight: John Oliver Dissects Our Pumpkin Spice Addiction

If you have not watched Last Week Tonight with comedian John Oliver on HBO, I can tell you that you're missing something magical. To say the man is brilliant is to still sell him short. A wonderful summary of just how bright and observant he is with his humor, take this bit he did on his show this week about America's obsession with pumpkin spiced anything between October and the end of November.

Just the simple fact that he reminds us all there is no actual pumpkin in pumpkin spice flavoring and it just sits behind the shelf at Starbucks for nine months of the year is genius enough, and it only gets better from there.

(YouTube Link)

The "five pounds of pumpkin a year" fact is pretty mind-blowing, too. I may just skip the pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving, come to think of it.

Watch Adults Get Scared Silly Playing Five Nights at Freddy's

There is something deviously enjoyable about watching adults get scared. When those adults are getting scared silly by a video game, it is even better. A medium initially created to entertain kids is now terrifying adults. Most mediums don't evolve like that, and it makes me drool with anticipation at where it might go.

Buzzfeed put together this video of people playing the point-and-click horror game, Five Nights At Freddy's, but they also throw in a twist around the 1:18 mark. I don't like to spoil things, so I wont say much, but it involves a grown man dressed in "furry" costume.

Now you KNOW you wanna watch it.

(YouTube Link)

By the way, to play the game yourself, click here. Just beware, it is like being stuck at a Chuck-E-Cheese after hours while on LSD. It is genuinely creepy.
