Reminds me of an old Steven Wright joke. Said he had a switch on his wll that didn't do anything when he flipped it on and off a few times. A couple weeks later he got a letter from a guy saying "cut it out."

Silly me. I thought it had to do with a sport's referee. Blowing a whistle for sure.

There is one of those on the Onondaga Lake Parkway outside of Syracuse NY. Once a large tour bus hit it and there were fatalities. Surprised it hasn't been "fixed" yet.

My maternal grandfather was chief psychiatrist at the Newark NY "State School". When I visited him as a child he would take me to work with him. Many "creepy" memories, but yes the place was like a castle and park.

I guess it's not possible for the internal combustion engine to have been a factor.

For years we lived on a street corner with a stop light. Smokers who were stopped would toss their butts out the window onto the space between the road and sidewalk. I had to "police" the area and clean them up. Annoying.

Somehow we survived the days with 2 or 3 stations/channels of it. Now we have hundreds which are junk except maybe 2 or 3. Go figure.

Just plain old H2-oska (as they say in Sweden). I'd go through 3 bottles of water when I umpired a ball game behind the plate.

One thing I hate is getting seated at a fairly crowded restaurant and seeing that no one is eating. Slow kitchen, ya think?

Funny. I was just remembering when I had to turn a dial to change channels on my TV. At one time I had a voice operated turner, one of my children.

We used to dry out our wet/snowy things as kids by setting them on the furnace register.

Funny aside to my car accident years ago. Had 43 stitches in my forehead to close up the wound I received smashing into my windshield on a head on collision into a concrete culvert. Doctor on call that night was an OB/GYN. Did a great job. When I had to visit his office to have the stitches removed is another story.
