I thought it was fluorescent lighting which is not really steady like incandescent, but flickers on and off very quickly so you are not conscious of it.
Reminds me of an aquatic frog I had in an aquarium in my biology lab classroom. It would sink to the bottom and rest. My students would think it had drowned and was dead. It was able to breathe through its skin. Sadly one time it accidentally jumped out of a gap in the glass lid onto the lab table counter one night and I found it the next morning really dead.
I can't imagine living with the fear of such fires destroying your home. When working as a surveyor I fought in a large forest fire in Washington state back in 1959. That was one scary experience.
Yes. I even had my "Master's of Malt Beverages" from Pat's. Wish I still had it. MrsO. and I shared a pizza there in 2017 when we attended my 55th college reunion. Still good. One time in college there was a freezing rain that covered everything with a thick coat of ice. We put on our skates and skated down the Stillwater to Pat''s. Fun times.
That's good. I'll never forget the first time at Pat's Pizza in Orono when I went to move from my bar stool to a table where some friends were sitting. The bartended "flipped out" about it. Startled me.
When I was going to college at the U of Maine 1957-1962, state law banned standing and drinking alcohol. You even had to have a bartender/server take a drink for you if you moved to another spot. Do not know if that is still law there.
