I did some ecological studies on Isle Royale back in college.

Not only is it full of moose but full of wolves as well. And because the population can't go anywhere this makes it one of the best places on earth to study wolf predator/prey population interaction. The Isle Royale wolf study has been going on for like 40-50 years and was until very recently overseen by Rolf Peterson (one of my college professors).
