Well, he didn't actually group things where they connect logically: Mac & PC should branch right off from Computer Geek; Joss Whedon's projects should branch from his name, etc.
See, now, I always assumed that the "hammer" evolved as a way to keep its eyes away from its mouth, because the hammerhead's a bottom feeder, and among its prey are skates and rays, with those nasty stingers in their tails. They also eat squid, and probably some spiny creatures that they wouldn't want to get poked in the eye with.
Yep, the Landmaster was the first thing I thought of, and apparently so it was for many of the commenters on that page. I used to ride past it where it was parked against the hillside in front of Jeffries Automotive Styling on the Cahuenga Pass for about 20 years! Kinda sad watching it disintegrate... until they finally restored it before selling it off.
Y'know, since Gary Larson retired, there have been several imitators, like "In The Bleachers", that just don't have the charm or intelligence of "The Far Side". This one comes closest to being a worthy successor! It's certainly better drawn!
This reminded me of a movie I was taken to see when I was six, "Ring of Bright Water". There was a scene that scarred me for life. Maybe I need to re-see.
Okay, Earth people can't do that! I'm wondering how Cirque du Soleil manages to recruit off-planet, what with the sorry state of manned spaceflight currently. ;o)
Y'know, I can't find a clip on YouTube of the opening montage of "Love, Actually", so I guess y'all will just have to go get the DVD. The different views of people greeting their loved ones at Heathrow fits perfectly with this post. Trust me when I say that I was crying my eyes out within 10 seconds of the start of the movie!
And Calatrava should've been in there somewhere. He built his career with bridges!

"T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah. "
