What is the motivation for bringing a guy to go shopping for girl clothes? Serious question. It can't be that they don't carry their own cash or credit cards. Maybe they only have one car and they'll go somewhere he wants afterwards?
"Drink: The Chicago Fizz (Dark rum, ruby port, lemon juice, sugar, club soda, and egg whites) Why?: While New Orleans is credited with the origination of the fizz, the Chicago variation’s claim to fame was its popularity at the Waldorf-Astoria bar in New York during the pre-prohibition era."
So, no connection with Chicago whatsoever other than the name, and no connection with the rest of the state at all.
Also, never heard of this drink, and rum and port aren't really go-to drinks in Chicago/Illinois. Total fail.
Real mythology means the story will reflect the teachings of a former-religion, now called mythology because no one practices it anymore, rather than made up by a current writer.
How can anyone tell the difference between all those baby-faced white girls? And when I say white, the barely-one-shade-darker-than-white Asian and African girls are only slightly excused.
Now that I have gone through the link: I had the same shower curtain as "Home of Ted & Ronnie Johnson. 151 Willoughby Ave., Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. April 11, 1978." The squares were colored with a gradation from deep orange to yellow. As awesome as it sounds.
The collection made me think of that time in an entirely different way. It was simply part of a continuum in my life, in the past but not irretrievably so, but now that I see it presented to a contemporary audience I realize how antiquated our then-trendy lifestyle must seem.
You're right, at the end there is a little vapor and a little flushing. That puts the temperature between 20-40ºF, I'd guess. Believe me, if he were truly taking a video of himself outside during the sub-zero period, it would have looked a lot different. I'm thinking maybe the video was shot Saturday or Sunday night before the temperature plummeted.
I get that it's all done for show, but as someone currently coping with the situation, I have to be a party-pooper and say that his lack of a red nose and no vapor coming from his nose and mouth are pretty clear indications that he filmed this in non-sub-zero temps.
The initial seconds were ones of horror, not carefreeness. My guess is that the later snippets where they are laughing were filmed after they'd been let in on the joke. Cruel, not heartwarming. I'm glad no one did that to me when I lost my hair to chemo.
