I attended French/Belgian schools in the early 70's and Jerry Lewis craze was big. I mean he was, next to Louis de Funès, French and Belgian kid's greatest hero. Also for myself at that time. I tried to enjoy a Jerry Lewis film lately but failed miserably. De Funès didn't lose his magic but Lewis really only does it if you're young enough.
Since I was 13, I've always thought this was one of their greatest pieces of work. Then again: I hate songs like "Michelle", "Hey Jude" and "Let It Be". Maybe I was really dropped off by aliens? Number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9, ....
Roer is a river called Rur in my town, just a few kilometers away from Roermond on the German side. "Mond" means "mouth", not "mont" = hill. The whole area is a catholic enclave both in the Netherlands and Germany.
I keep on wondering about believers.
Also: democracy?
