@LisaL - I used to work in a supermarket and whenever there was a dog stuck in a car they would announce the license plate number, but people rarely respond because they know exactly why they're being called. We would call the cops all the time.

I don't understand why it's so hard to leave your pet at home when you know you'll be shopping.

The only people who even give racists power are the people who get offended by this crap. If you stop seeing things as racist, then they will no longer be racist. People who are racists will stop saying these things if they know it doesn't bother you. I think it's important to laugh at stereotypes because they are ridiculous. Most people don't actually think that all Mexicans look like that. And the people who think all Muslims are terrorists are idiots, and why would you really care what those people think?

The neighbors were right to do what they did. At the very least, the cat should have had a collar. A responsible pet owner should neuter their cat if they intend to allow the cat outdoors.

And frankly I don't agree with breeding cats, or any animal kept as a pet, because there are enough animals in shelters that need homes.

I still don't know how to pronounce "infinitesimally." Is it pronounced infinite-simally? Or is there another syllable in there or something that I'm missing? And it seems to be coming up in a lot of books I've read recently.

I plan on donating my body to a body farm. I don't want to be embalmed so hopefully I'll die in a state that has a body farm since most states require embalming for a body to moved across state lines.

And to themonkey -- every body is documented and very well accounted for so if someone was to dump a body there, they would know as soon as they saw it there. Everything is extremely organized to the point that if anything is amiss, they see it immediately.

I agree with the author. My best friend has a 2 year old and she knows she will be punished if she throws a tantrum in a public place. I guess that's just proper parenting though.

Part of the problem is that people are too afraid to actually discipline their children. With threats of child services being called in, no one will even slap their kid's hand in public. That is absolutely ridiculous. Sometimes, a child needs a little bit of a slap or a spank so they know not to do something again.

People also need to give their children attention. I've seen plenty of parents talking on the phone while their child is having a tantrum and all that kid wants is a little attention. Parents don't seem to have an interest in their children's lives as much as they used to. When my parents were little, their families would sit down every night for dinner. I haven't sat with my family since I was probably 9 years old.

I think that for the first few years after a couple has children, they shouldn't be allowed to have any extra money. Why? Because kids whose parents are on welfare are usually well behaved. They know that they can't have whatever they want just because they act up in a store. Or maybe people should just learn to say no to their kids.

I love love love Johnny Depp, and everything he's done with Tim Burton has been classic, but this movie was the worst piece of crap I've ever seen. I love the original, and I expected this to be really good, but I was sooooo disappointed. I was most upset by the fact that he didn't do the tunnel scene. I was hoping he would make it really dark and disturbing and he just took it out completely.
