Forecast: Dog Takes Over Weather Report, Variable Conditions Expected

YouTube Link

This hilarious footage shows a Canadian weather report that goes to the dogs when Edmonton weatherman Mike Sobel attempts to give the forecast while holding Humane Society visitor Ripple on a leash. Ripple, a mastiff mix only wanting to play, plays too powerfully for the television personality to handle while explaining weather conditions and gesturing at the screen. The forecast might indicate "calm conditions," yet in the studio it's a different story! Make sure to watch at around 1:20, when things really start to get wild. -Via Viral Viral Videos

24 Outrageous Stories about Prince

Tastes in music are subjective. One person's musical trash is another's treasure. Some much prefer one or two genres over any others. Some like music across nearly all genres. To some music lovers, Prince Rogers Nelson, known as Prince, is a musical genius. When his music must be fit into a category, such as in a music store, Prince is often labeled R&B. But his musical style is actually a blend of many genres and influences, including pop, rock, jazz, rap, funk, new wave and even gospel.

This year is the 30th anniversary of his album Purple Rain. Particularly after that 1984 release, Prince has been considered by those in the industry as a musical force with which to be reckoned. The recording is often listed among the best music albums in history.

But as the saying goes, there's a fine line between genius and madness. "Madness," in that context, ranges from simple eccentricities to severe phobias and behaviors that few could understand. Strange stories abound about Prince, as over the years, he's established himself as one odd, purple duck. Some dismiss him as a jerk. Others give him a wide berth, accepting his quirks.

One story related by his ex-wife Mayte Garcia involved Prince installing a beauty salon in their extravagant, Spanish-style home. Yet Garcia was instructed by her husband not to use this in-home service. "I always went out if I needed my hair done," she said. "The salon wasn't for me, it was for my husband. Prince needed his space."

Ten Cool Products Invented by Kids

Hart Cain of New Philadelphia, Ohio, pictured above, was thirteen years old in 2010. At the time, his sister was selling candles for a school fundraiser. Hart didn't like the girly scents of his sister's wares. It made him reflect on candle scents that would appeal to men. He went on to produce the candles, called "man-cans," which feature scents such as leather baseball mitt, gunpowder, freshly cut grass, bacon and pizza.

Hart's candles are also unique in that they are contained by soup cans, the soup from which he donates to soup kitchens. Thus far, this enterprising young man has donated 80,000 cans of soup to feed the disadvantaged.

Baby Elephant Airlifted for Medical Care with Two Animal Friends as Company

This sweet baby elephant named Wass fell down a man-made well in a Kenyan river bed and needed medical care. Representatives from The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust airlifted the little calf to safety, and they took friends to comfort him: these two baby ostriches. It's good to see the wildlife trust making a difference for injured animals like this. Hopefully Wass will have a long elephant life ahead of him. -Via Arbroath

Kraft Foods to Produce Bacon Cream Cheese

Kraft-owned Philadelphia will be adding Oscar Meyer bacon to their cream cheese, which is already stocked in some stores and will be coming soon to others. As of now, the flavor will only be distributed to American outlets. Their recent Twitter post carried the announcement, which caused the bacon lovers following their account to spread the spread news across the social media platform.

I've been known to put a crispy piece of bacon on top of my bagel with cream cheese, so I'm looking forward to the concoction. In case of bacon emergency, I could still add a slice, for the luscious layered effect. The new spread is another addition to the newer flavors introduced in the line, which include brown sugar and cinnamon, honey pecan, smokey chipotle, spicy jalapeño and smoked salmon.

Kraft has already posted a recipe using the spread as an ingredient: French toast stuffed with bacon-flavored cream cheese. That recipe is here. Follow Philly's Twitter feed here.

Fifteen Facts About Uncle Buck

The 1989 movie Uncle Buck was such a wonderful showcase for the larger-than-life personality of the late John Candy. Aside from Planes, Trains and Automobiles, it's my favorite Candy movie. His interaction with the children (playing characters that were Buck's nieces and nephew) was so well acted by Candy, so sweet and genuine, it was hard to believe the children weren't actually related to him. But did you know that Danny DeVito was the first choice for the role? I can't imagine the movie being such a lasting American comedy classic if that had happened, could you?

Man Claims There Was an Extra McSurprise in His Coffee

Ron Morais of Fredricton, New Brunswick Canada says that upon attempting to drink his McDonald's morning coffee to the last drop, he found an unwanted guest. After imbibing almost all of the drink, Morais thought something else was in the bottom of the cup. Unfortunately, he was correct. A dead mouse rested in the bottom of the paper cup. Amazingly, Morais seemed to have a sense of humor about the incident. "I’m in better shape than the mouse," he said.

The repulsive extra bit of robust coffee flavoring is being investigated; thus far the report is "there was no evidence of pests" at the McDonalds. Read more on the story here.

Doctor Records Verbal Exchange with Nurse Infected with Ebola

YouTube Link

Prior to her transfer to the National Institute of Health Clinical Care Center in Maryland, a doctor treating nurse Nina Pham for ebola recorded this interaction with her. Dr. Gary Weinstein of Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas filmed his goodbye to Pham, in which she was seen giving a tearful response. The video, if nothing else, is a good illustration of the protective gear medical personnel must wear in the treatment of ebola patients to prevent being infected with the deadly virus. It is being reported Pham requested that the video be circulated. -Via Viral Viral Videos

Couple's Dream Home is Built on Neighbor's Property by Mistake

A Missouri couple named Voss who own a real estate and property management company purchased eighteen lots in a gated community in Florida called Ocean Hammock. They hired a Florida company, Keystone Homes, to build the three-story, five-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot house pictured above on one of their lots. But due to a survey error, the entire $680,000 house was constructed to completion on the land of a neighboring lot. The property was supposed to be built on 23 Ocean Ridge Boulevard; it was actually built on 21 Ocean Ridge Boulevard.

That's certainly a costly mistake, one which falls under the responsibility of the construction company. Mark Voss has enlisted the help of a lawyer, but for now, the vice president of Keystone is admitting that the company he contracted to do the building is at fault. Keystone's v.p. said,

“The buck stops with the builder. I have built about 600 homes in Flagler County and this has never happened to me before. It does happen, but it’s rare.”
