Again, from reading the article (instead of just looking at the picture):
Mirhejazi says the Naturmobil was designed with the safety and welfare of the animal in mind. No whipping is involved.
To make the horse move, the driver flicks a switch to make the conveyor belt, where the horse is mounted, move.
Shock absorbers are placed under the conveyor belt to lessen the impact on the horse’s joints.
The horse is made to wear special soft leather shoes, tied with laces, to make walking as comfortable as possible.
This sounds like it's easier on the horse than pulling a traditional buggy.

It's nice to see kids helping a dog instead of abusing it. Good post!

Yay for Josh. Nicely said.
...I have nothing new to contribute, but as a science major in college at the moment, I concur with the above pro-science statements. And even if people did wikipedia it (or, heaven forbid, a real encyclopedia, since people never used those in the pre-internet days), that's still better than just looking at it and saying "looks like a snake, so it must be, and that's that!".

I disagree with Bean. They didn't just give it to her for no reason. She legitimately hit a home run, and was just injured in the course of running it. I think it's nice. It's just a college game, and when it comes down to it, she's just a girl, not a professional athlete getting paid for this (scholarships aside).

Again about the pronunciation, I'd like to clarify why it's not as hard as it looks. Molecules are named first (the last part of the name) by the base, in this case methane. Then they add the things that are connected to the base, in this case two (di) chlorines (chloro) and two fluorines (fluoro). di-chloro-di-fluoro-methane.
Pretty neat post though! Accidents like the printing press happen all the time, unfortunately.

Class action--what does that mean about where the $5 mil ends up? RIAA deserves to lose $5 mil, but that woman certainly does not deserve to gain it.

The fact that it used my "get pregnant" phrase as an ad is hilarious. "Compare choices and prices on everything you need to get pregnant!"

This is actually kind of scary. If I ever get pregnant, I want to spend the time in a microbe-free bubble.
Not feasible, but what can you possibly do to ensure you have a healthy child?

I'm confused... how is he doing more than just jumping in the air with a couple weird plastic things?

What a coincidence! At lunch today I was talking to my friend about how awesome slow-motion videos are, and then I come see this post! Cool!

Looks awesome. Also look like the traffic killed their site. Isn't there a term for that?

@Pusinsky
"I live in Maryland and our zoo has polar bears and guess what ? They spend 70% of the time playing in the water. They are fantastic swimmers."
Um... do they sleep in the water? Do they eat solely aquatic food? No--they hibernate, eat, sleep, mate, bear cubs on land. And polar bears aren't the only thing in the arctic.
Also I highly doubt that losing an election is what made Al Gore an environmentalist.

I wish our government spent more of my taxes on things like the Humane Society and ASPCA and less on idiotic pork barrel spending.
