This makes no sense at all.

I teach in Canada and at my school we have spent the last few years moving away from homework. The majority of teachers in my school don't give any homework or rarely give homework. This didn't come about because parent were complaining, it came about because very few of the students did their homework. We are an inner city school and the kids are often working at least one job if not two, or going home and making dinner and caring for siblings, or a million other reasons why they don't get to it. So we just stopped the struggle. It meant marks actually went up because there were no zeroes for homework. Instead we came up with different strategies to cover things in class and have the students show us that they understand the information.

It's completely idiotic to deduct marks for not having the correct column in place, Esmee had the right answer, she met the learning outcome!

Those were the days when the actually though babies couldn't feel pain.

Triple O's is White Spot trying to rebrand itself. I'll be the first to admit that White Spot doesn't have the best burgers in town but I think they are awesome because that's always where we would go out for dinner when I was a kid. I think it's comfort food for me now- I love a White Spot burger and will give this one a try next time I'm there.

The sanctuary is where that monkey belongs. I'm glad some one cares enough to take care of him. Monkeys are not pets!!

I've of course heard the saying "a barrel of monkeys" but had no idea that barrel was the collective now for monkeys.

People who are homeless are not art projects. I think giving them some other resource (clothes, food, job...) would be more helpful.

This is an oldie but a goodie! I love the video because of the emotion. As a teacher who is about to get a ten year legislated contract in a province where teachers could be beheaded in the streets and no one would care, this video still makes me feel a little better. It's so hard to be a teacher, but it's such a great profession.
