They should be a little more specific. I use my TV to watch movies I get from Netflix, but I do not watch regularly broadcast television programs. Is this what they mean?
It'd be perfect for my father! I once got him a similar remote with nice large buttons. Unfortunately for us, his odd-branded TV simply wasn't compatible with it. I may end up giving this one a try, though!
I live in Eugene, just about an hour and a half from Portland, so I'm definitely checking this out! I knew about the Seattle underground tour, but had never heard of a Portland one until now. Thanks for that!
I'm very glad to hear this tune in its entirety. Since it is the default ring tone for so many phones, I've grown to hate it with a passion. However, being able to hear the actual melody redeems it.
I was occasionally asked to clean keyboards here at work, and most of the typical ones did not come apart. However, the MS Natural Keyboard was always a joy to clean... Just a few screws out, then a couple of rubber mats to wash off and keytops to soak in sudsy water. Give it all a dry and snap them back into place, and you've got a new keyboard for the most part.
My current keyboard, an old clicky IBM Model M model, can remove the keytops, but is pretty tricky to actually open up and get all the crumbs out of.
In case anyone is interested, here's a page with ringtones of the various Mosquito sounds, if you'd like to hear. I do think it's pretty clever to use as a ringtone, so older people apparently wouldn't be able to hear your phone ring.
A video would sure be nice... I would imagine it'll show up on YouTube before too long. I've wanted to try it since I saw it on MythBusters! And yeah, it's only a waste if you enjoy diet soda. Otherwise, who are we to say what money should be spent on? I bet the kids loved it and will be talking about it for years.
I've always had a pretty good sense of hearing high-pitched sounds, even now, at age 37. I wonder if there's a sample of this sound online somewhere, to see if I could hear it or not.
I still think they shouldn't clear cut, but should instead be more selective. However, this costs them a lot more money and time, so I can see why they do it if it's allowed.
I've never seen so many people think they were the first to discover this. I imagine ten years from now we'll still be seeing "wouldya believe?" stories.
