The majority of Jim Jone’s followers did not even drink Flavor Aid. They were murdered with injections of cyanide between the shoulder blades. Some were gun down and a very few drank the juice.
The government corroner for New Guenea said that so many people he examined during a 24 hour period were murdered by injection that he gave up examining the bodies after 200+.
The freedom of information acts released tons of documents regarding this incident.
Either the news media were led astray on this or intentionally mis-reported the facts.
