I would imagine his first (and only) sexual experience will leave him disappointed. Sex requires time to get good at and really enjoy.
I wouldn't say sex is overratted, I'd just say the experience of losing your virginity is.
If you went to play tennis for the first time, I imagine you would spend more time chasing balls than hitting them. Sex is kind of like that.
Without the ball hitting, of course. That would hurt.
