How can art critics (and certain artists for that matter) keep up their shtick if things like this keep happening?

What does this have to do with hipsters?
This is geeky. So yes I would say it belongs here with all the geeks and the nerds.

I checked as well in paint. There is indeed an extremely faint trace of blue/green, but imo not enough to explain the effect. Probably due to the jpg compression. They should have stuck with a bitmap or something else that is not lossy.
Anyway, the effect is very real indeed, there are a lot of similar examples to be found on the net (or in the original article).

Yes, it most definately is a bit weird.
But when it comes to parents loving their children, it could be A LOT worse.

Take note that a lot of banks who were saved from going bankrupt with taxpayers money are still paying millions in bonuses for their employees. Business as usual.

In real life this would probably cause a big media "controversy".

Food is produced by corporations. Corporations only care about profit. People like sugar, salt and fat, to their own detriment. (Just like people like alcohol, nicotine etc.) So the corporations put a truckload of sugar, salt and fat into "food". Then end.
(PS: In case you are wondering about the salt; I used to know somebody who could not have any salt, at all. Try it out some time, like bread without salt (or anything else for that matter), and you start to realize how much salt is in our food.)

Not that hacking some website (and alerting the media at large) is going to stop terrorism, but let's pretend for the sake of, I dunno, comedy.

Exactly. For this reason I think this story is bullshit. Or maybe the intelligence agencies really are that dumb.

>>I'm sure there will soon be a companion article in women's magazines about how they just can't seem to hang on to their men and have no clue why.
I often wonder about the opposite: how men are able to hang on to their women. (And the ones that do probably have no clue why.) ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluoroscopy
"In its simplest form, a fluoroscope consists of an X-ray source and fluorescent screen between which a patient is placed.
...
The use of X-rays, a form of ionizing radiation, requires the potential risks from a procedure to be carefully balanced with the benefits of the procedure to the patient."
So queue peeps making a fuss about the x-rays.
But where do you think the meat you eat every day comes from? Yes; by slaughtering animals on a massive scale. (And no they are not being treated humanely while being bred, quite the opposite.)
Don't start dissing on vegetarianism, just pointing out the ethical inconsistency.

Wow.
You couldn't make this up if you tried.
This is so awesome I'm at a loss for words.
Just think about all the things that have to come together to create this or all the cultural baggage you need for this to even make any sense.
Mindboggling.

Right after waking up your muscles are still asleep. Working out right then just seems wrong. Athletes perform best in the evening, not in the morning.
This is one of those things that look neat and cute and smart but will not be used by anybody.
