Wrong about the rats & the bubonic plague. Yes it's the fleas on the rats that are mainly responsible for infecting humans, but it's the rats that carry them around. A flea sucks blood from an infected rat, jumps to another rat and infects that rat etc. So in other words: the more rats, the more fleas that are carried around that spread the disease. No rats, no bubonic plague.

And pestilence is still alive and kicking today. In fact they are still monitoring the rat population in certain areas around the world to make sure we don't get another epidemic.

In other news, I discovered a hair in my pizza today. (True story.)

I just shrugged, took the hair out and continued eating everything. (Hoping it was just from the brush. Still alive though, as you can see.)

On top of that it looks like a female genitalia diagram.

It is indeed no surprise that she get's criticism for criticizing this book, but it seems to me a lot of people are missing the point she was trying to make.

I don't personally care one way or the other about this book.

About humor that can be crass or offensive: watch some Louis C.K. Some will like it, some will hate it.

Drugs are bad for you, it's a simplification but let's agree for the sake of argument. But unhealthy food is also bad for you and I don't see any laws against that being passed.

One could argue that withholding sex is a form of disrespect towards men, but not listening to their pleas or making false promises is also disrespectful towards the women.

Not saying one should use this strategy to try to fix relationship problems, but this is not about relationship problems, it's about a bigger issue that involves the whole community they are living in.

What they are doing 1) get's media attention and 2) will probably force the men off their lazy butts to finally do something about it (directly or indirectly) much faster than any other method.

I'm guessing there's probably a bit more work to be done than filling a few potholes.

So ok, they could start marching in the streets, but what they are doing now is probably A LOT more effective. We'll see how long it takes to get the road fixed, but I bet it's not gonna be another 20 years. ;)
