Nathan Miller's Comments
I remember a picture a while back of a bunch of penguins looking down (confused) at a plush penguin. It was very cute.
I can't find it on google though.

I dream in B&W, but I've always had a color TV. Of course, when I was younger, almost all the movies we watched at home were b&w simply because they are the best movies, but that doesn't mean I didn't see color tv or movies.
I still dream primarily in B&W, though I recall a few dreams that have had one or two colors in them, à la Schindler's List and the Red girl.

This is now the third blog in less than 24 hours on which I've seen this article... and I only read a few blogs!
It's a good idea, but I prefer the idea with the cellphone that has a breathalyzer attached. Pretty clever idea.

shirt.woot is great. You don't have to order today, they'll continue to make the shirts for at least a week, but the price goes up to 15 after today. So it's not a big deal that it's probably gonna sell out today.

Nice. The song is catchy, and relatively lyrical. I love the shadows.
As for Kanye, a lot of people (in and out of Neatorama) keep saying things like, "I respect his music, but not him as a person." When I hear this, I can't help but wondering a few things. First, do you actually know him as a person? Second, what would any rapper have to do to glean your respect?
It seems that if someone in the hip-hop community is successful, people jump on every mistake he makes. It's an interesting flashback to an era where a video like this could never have been made, simply because the people in it are black.
I can't help but ask if these people who speak ill of Kanye actually care about anything he's said or done, or if they would rather just find any excuse to hate success.

I don't know how I missed this when it came up, but it reminds me of Benny Lava (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZA1NoOOoaNw) easily the best of this genre.

Texas was annexed in 1845.
After we won the War of Independence in 1836. So even if the Mexican-American War had not occurred, the borders would not have looked like this. Texas won independence fair and square. [Actually, not fair, since often, the Texian army was 1/10th the size of the Mexican army, and General Santa Ana (Mexico) often killed prisoners in cold blood.]

When I was 9, I was aware and understanding enough to be able to take the subway alone, should I need to. I certainly took the bus alone very often.
It's an absolutely ridiculous argument to say that today, 9 year olds shouldn't be allowed to do so. Are 9 year olds of lower intelligence today than they were in the past? Ludicrous.

I once read (but I can't for the life of me find where) that Antonio Meucci was recently posthumously awarded the US Patent for the telephone, revoking it from AGB. Canada then passed a law recognizing AGB as the "only inventor of the telephone."

I saw this a couple days ago and really liked how mine came out.

I'm pretty sure that floppies held 1.44 MB, not 1.22, but I could be wrong.

Am I crazy?
I've never seen that College Humor clip. How many Nathan Millers read Neatorama?

I've always been under the impression that swallowing gum had no effect whatsoever, so I never had a problem doing so. I now know that there are some dangers... but I doubt that I'll stop.

Bombay, for example, liquidated in November 2007, well before many of these other failures.
