Or maybe this is just when the births are reported. My birth certificate says I was born on March 31st but that's not how everyone in the family remembers it....

Heard Brian Cox on the radio the other day. He said that for him, the problem with ghosts is that they violate the laws of thermodynamics. Without a source of energy, how can they continue to exist?

Personally, I prefer to just think of them as silly.

I know it's all in good fun and that the ~1000 hot dogs eaten in this event wouldn't make a blind bit of difference (plus I'm more than aware that I'm going to sound like a douche) but, when we're staring down the barrel of "the worst food crisis of the 21st century" in the Horn of Africa stories like this just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Though, in fairness probably not as bad as that of the competitors'.

I remember hearing that after Lewis Hamilton won the F1 world championship his home town wanted to name a street after him. They were going to call it Hamilton Road until someone wrote into the local paper to say that "surely Hamilton Drive would be more appropriate". :)

I know it's horribly cruel and all but reading the comments on here (and elsewhere) you'd think she was a child molesting monster!

Get some perspective people, it's a vat. Besides, she could be deranged and in need of help herself. God help anyone who messes with the Internet's most precious resource, eh?

I would definitely eat it. In fact, I'd volunteer to test it. Cheaper, cleaner, healthier meat must be a good thing. And, if it can help to ameliorate a potential world food crisis, then so much the better.

Speaking out of almost total ignorance (obviously, this is the Internet); I can't see that working a muscle in order to somewhat replicate the chewiness of normally farmed meat would be too difficult. Some sort of electrical pulse as it grows should work, right?

Also, my GF would surely rapidly run out of excuses to not eat meat; which would mean I would only have to cook one meal at a time. And that would kick ass.
