I hate the fact that no reference to scale is given.

Actually looking at the design and his description of it, it does make sense. It looks like some kind of ion propulsion design. Looks more like a prototype being tested. The weird text on the bottom puts it over the top for me. :( Can anyone identify that font? It looks oddly familiar.
