Ron Paul 2008's Comments

Whoever made this cartoon has no idea what he/she is commenting on. Libertarianism is not about get rid of all government, it is about having a small central government there is a HUGE difference between those two concepts. Libertarians believe in solving problems at the state and local level (as the framers intended). This way people are do not have "one size fits all" laws forced upon them. This doesn't mean that there would suddenly be no restrictions on corperations. Current federal laws would not jsut disappear and it is rediculous to insinuate that. From the libertarian point of view, if you don't like walmart you would go to your state legislature and try to pass a law restricting the things you think wallmart is exploiting. That way states where people like wallmart can have their wallmarts and states that don't like big business can restrict it. Libertarians basically believe in old school American freedom and the benifits (and dangers) that come with that. We are so far from that right now it is scary.
