You know, for such an odd band, they did really well for themselves. I had forgotten about some of the movie appearances. I must have seen them in 'Back to School' a thousand times on HBO as a kid.
I just hope that the window for technologies dying doesn't continue to shrink. It's incredibly wasteful.
If you take a one year old cellphone into an AT&T or Sprint store and they practically call everyone over to look at the antique. I mean, come on.
And I was one that got burned by the whole HD-DVD/BluRay debacle. Not by a lot, but that format went down in flames faster than I could have ever believed. Leaving everyone who bought into it holding the bag.
"It’s just something this guys doing, for fun, or for money who cares?"
I care, because I'm just completely sick of Detroit getting kicked while it's down...over and over and over. As I mentioned above, there is a real and concrete revitalization of parts of Detroit that are being completely ignored. Areas that I would never go into as a kid and young adult are great destinations to go to now. And the city has suffered and worked really hard to make that happen. Like I said before...enough.
It's a bummer that a peppy presentation doesn't make this all any easier to swallow. 8-) Actually it's really surreal...sort of like a cartoon of our own doom. Nicely done though.
It's always neat to see someone take something to the next level. We've all seem dimensional street art, and it's very cool, but this is really super amazing.
I agree in part. I visit a lot and have seen the difference.
I do like the increase in volume...but I would say some pretty 'un-Neat' stuff has been getting through a bit...see: 100 depressing photos of Detroit homes. I would just like to see a bit more editing.
Other than that, I think a lot of the posts have fit into the site well.
I was in Detroit just last night having a great dinner with my best friend. It was so busy that it was hard to find somewhere to park. Walked along and saw this going on...

Ice sculptures, ice dancers, portable toboggan run, and kids waiting to get onto the ice rink.
I've really just about had it with all of these 'Detroit Sucks' stories here on Neatorama. There are many MANY cities with problems and decaying areas. I'm sure I can take a great 'check out the crap' tours of Pittsburg, Columbus, and Memphis. But another story about Detroit's vacant houses is a trip to the front page. Not Neat at all.
On top of it being just about enough, as mentioned above, these photos are bland and frankly cowardly drive-bys. I've walked up to several of these houses while out taking photos...there are much better ways to shoot these that don't look like they were taken for a real estate catalog. Several I recognize in particular are a block away from great new developments and the city just hasn't had the chance to sweep these places away yet.
Sorry for the rant, but this one was the straw that broke the back...some very weak photos that some guy is trying to sell and help make sure Detroit's image stays in the toilet for as long as humanly possible.
A local coffee vendor here in town once told me that Starbucks needs to buy such a high volume of coffee that to get it all to taste the same they over-roast it...that's why to coffee connesiuers (sp?), Starbucks tastes burnt and rather crappy.
I'm sure we've all see the galleries of crazy bus graphics, like the doors that look like shark teeth and things like that.
And there's plenty of really interesting bus stop ads like this one.
Weird.
These are fun articles...keep em coming.

I bet it would be EXTREMELY odd to look in to this thing and try and comb your hair or something after a lifetime of reversing mirrors.

Enough.
