He was born a man and he will remain a man (albeit a very sexy man) as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't have ovaries, he can't give birth or perform the reproductive role of a female of the human species. He's just a guy who no longer has the ability to procreate.

What would anyone have to gain from this being a fake? Obviously someone saw a turbine spinning very fast and thought to film it. It might be a coincidence that they caught it breaking on film or it might be that they were expecting it to break.

However it's not like they threw the animal into a vat of acid.
