Why are people fascinated by silly continuity mistakes? It's got to be the most boring topic in the world, right up there with actors talking about acting.

Who cares if the protagonist's hands were here in one shot, and there in another? That stuff happens all the time, and sometimes it has nothing to do with the continuity person not doing their job. Sometimes in editing a shot is used out of its intended sequence, or shots are jumbled around because it works better in an order that doesn't match the shooting script. Big deal.

A much bigger mistake was the stupid "magnetic shotgun pellets" in Indiana Jones. Now that's just plain stupidity, and no excuse for that.

I am well aware of the difference between photons and protons. I think a lot about this article is either BS or poorly researched. Did the article not claim he stuck his head inside a particle accelerator?

Have you ever heard of a proton beam that is only 760 mph?

From the article:

"...though we don’t know of anyone else who has been exposed to radiation in the form of a proton beam moving at about the speed of sound..."

Pretty slow proton beam there. Don't you mean the speed of LIGHT?

This problem has nothing to do with CDs. It's simply the application of dynamic compression in mastering. And if you think this hasn't been done for ages, you are wrong. The tools have simply become more sophisticated. The Beatles early songs were designed to cut through the noise and limited range on AM radio.

Most music audio today is designed to be played back in high ambient noise environments, such as the car, or on a computer, or radio. That's what is driving artists and engineers to apply more dynamic compression on top-selling pop, rock, or rap titles.

If you hate the sound of dynamically compressed audio, there are thousands of CD releases every year that are beautifully recorded and mastered, but most of them are jazz, classical, or alternative.

The Top 40 is the lowest common denominator of the music industry; you have to look beyond that if you want to discover gems.

And to all of you who think that just because you don't like the mastering or the music that this gives you the right to steal it, that's just a pathetic rationalization.

It should read "What *does" twelve terabytes of data look like?" not "What *do* twelve terabytes of data look like?" Grammar counts, especially for headlines.

Yeah, I love those curlycues in the North Atlantic, Greenland Sea, and Norwegian Sea. Were the DHL pilots on acid?

What a total fake. And Erik Nordenankar is a total douche nozzle.

Most probably it's a snakehead, a non-indigenous invasive species that has spread widely across the US due to people dumping them into ponds, etc. Snakeheads can actually crawl for short distances over land to other bodies of water which makes them particularly hard to contain.

They are really ugly too.
