Well. Slow cold day with time on my hands. And it must be slow over at MSN too as it was a Stacker article they pulled for this. From March of 2021. Guess there’s nothing much else going on in the world. Anyway, since Miss C asks, “How exactly does one define science fiction?”, I meandered over to IMDB and checked some titles to see how they do it. The answer I think is IMDB employs a bunch of interns for this task. So, the next question one might ask is what type of weird Boolean logic did Stacker use to “pull” the data? Granted, it’s over a year, but without further comment I present my findings.
Stacker's minimum 10K vote requirement results in a rating cutoff of 8.3

Didn’t make the list (oops)
The Twilight Zone: Drama, Fantasy, Horror: 9.0/80K
Babylon 5: Action, Adventure, Drama: 8.3/31K
Dark: Crime, Drama, Mystery: 8.8/347K (There are exceptions to every rule)

Didn't make the list (because whatever)
The Prisoner, Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi: 8.1/2.9K
Star Trek Discovery, Action, Adventure, Drama: 7.1/113K
Star Trek Picard: Action, Adventure, Drama: 7.5/55K
The Invaders: Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller: 8.1/2.9K
The Jetsons: Animation, Comedy, Family: 7.0/21K
Made the list (A lot of animation on IMDB is not listed as ‘Sci-Fi’)
#1 - Rick and Morty: Animation, Adventure, Comedy: 9.2/463K
#37 - Doctor Who (1963): Adventure, Drama, Family: 8.4/37K
#40 - Spider-Man: The Animated Series: Animation, Action, Adventure: 8.4/30K

.The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has been solved? -Chuckle- Ok. Sure. Good to see Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster didn't make the list. The truth is out there.

You missed this point in my comment: "Throughout the entire run I spent time researching and reading the history of the actual characters and events that were portrayed." That's where I learned actual stuff. . .

Hmmm... I've been patiently waiting for Vikings: Valhalla and will go there eagerly. The original series had its ups and downs, but overall I loved it - especially the performances of Travis Fimmel and Linus Roache and their on screen chemistry as Ragnar and King Ecbert. And it did something few series do: Throughout the entire run I spent time researching and reading the history of the actual characters and events that were portrayed. Taking dramatic license of history is nothing new, but would it have been better if it had been more factual? Dunno. Aside from the irony of it being on the 'History Channel', it was damn good entertainment. And I still learned a lot.

The gas stove is the next target in the war on climate change and the battle is well underway. The Federal Government is incentivizing against their use and states are beginning to ban them outright (California, New York). Other states (Arizona, Texas) have passed laws forbidding the banning of gas usage. This article is part of that war. Full disclosure: I've been cooking with gas for 65 years and accept the risk.

Glad they got it all straightened out, because here we are in 2022, the age of 4K Ultra TVs, all of which have crappy inferior sound. Combine that with my aging ears and you'll find me, and plenty like me routinely using closed captioning.
