Being born premature does not always deem that a child will live with disabilities, nor does being born full term deem that you will not. Nor does being diasbled mean that life is miserable and meaningless....my severely disabled son (who was born full term and suffered a brain injury due to a medical mistake) has taught me more about life than I could possibly imagined, he is also THE HAPPIEST child I have ever seen. When he was in the highest level of intensive care after his birth, the baby in the isolette next to him was the smallest baby in the NICU at just barely a pound, the amazing thing though was that this child never needed any life support, she was perfect in everyway and is now a happy healthy 7 year old....what if doctors said she was too smal to save? Who are we to judge, and who are we to say what, and who deserves life. Mys son is completely aware of his different abilities, or lack there of, and if he had had the choice, it would not be different, he would choose to live....perhaps the world would be a better place if more people would focus on the possitive rather than the negative.
